Group B Strep

Do they do the group b strep test if you're having a scheduled c/s?  I can't remember and am curious.  TIA!

With DS, scheduled rcs, I didn't have that test.

Yup. I have had 3 c-sections and have always had the group b strep done.

My OB didn't do one because you get an antibiotic during the c-section anyway as a preventative measure so either way it's treated.

I had one. My dr said that the pediatrician likes to know. 

This is what my OB said too.  I have to get it done next week.

But I don't have to have internals done, unless I want one.  No thank you.

I had one at 35 weeks.  My OB said that the pediatrician likes to see it on the chart and that a lot of pediatricians will treat the baby for it if the test hasn't been run.

3 c/s and had it with all of them. They will give antibiotics anyways because of the surgery itself but if your water was to break on its own they will want to know for the baby.
