Sleep ing In Crib

DS is will be 8 weeks tomorrow and last night was the 1st time he has slept in his crib. He has either slept with us or on my chest.. We have the angel care monitor but didn't turn it on because I was awake literally ALL night.. Every little movement he made I was in there... How do I stop myself from doing that?? At 4 this m orning I finally got him and put him in bed with us so I could get atleast a few hours of sleep.. I've heard of putting mom's shirt with them when they sleep, anyone do this? Does it work? I want him to sleep in his crib but having such a difficult time with it.. Am I the only one?!?!

Re: Sleep ing In Crib

  • It will get better.  And I think turning on the AngleCare will help (we have the Snuza and I can't sleep without it).  I wouldn't put any loose clothing in there, but you could nap on his crib sheet without a shirt on if you want your smell in there.

You might pick up a sleep book.  It helps to hear from an "expert" that there are regular sleeping noises and that you're not doing baby any favors by responding to them.  They need good unbroken sleep too, and they will let you know if you're needed.  Once I figured out what were "sleep" noises and what were "awakening" noises, it was much easier for me not to wear a path between my bed and her crib.

I hope that helps.  Don't worry, you're normal!  Smile

  • I tries one night and one night only do far and although she could probably do it, I couldn't... She's been back in the bassinet ever since! I look at it like this: she's not going to be this age forever nor will she be in my room forever... But, for right now, it's not hurting anything! Therefore she will go over there whenever I feel comfortable about it!!
