Congestion!

DS has been really congested for about two weeks now. No fever, still eating normally and still happy, just really stuffy. It's worse at night. I've been using saline and the nose sucker, and he's sleeping with a warm mist humidifier. Is there anything else I can do? I'm calling the pedi next week, but I wanted to see if you ladies had any suggestions. 

Oh yeah, he is in daycare now that I am back to work full-time.

Have you tried the nosefrida? I have heard wonderful reviews on it for snot sucking, I haven't used one yet but based on the reviews I'm going to buy one!

Yes!  The nosefrida is a great invention!!  My DS gets congested easily (small nasal area, I guess) and I use the snot sucker regularly.  DS actually enjoys it, now that he knows what to expect. I put saline drops in, wait a couple of minutes for things to "soften"' and then suck away,  I was a bit iffy at first, but now that I see how great it works, it doesn't faze me anymore.

FYI - I've read a few times on this board that warm mist humidifiers may not be ideal since they're a breeding ground for mold and mildew.  I guess you would just have to make sure you clean it well all the time.  Hope your LO feels better soon!

Yes, we do have the Nosefrieda, and it is fantastic! DS hates it and screams bloody murder when I use it, but it really works.
