How many meals and snacks does your LO get? And when do we start cutting out bottles in favor of food? Hannah has 3meals and 4 bottles per day between meals and before bed. That snack post below got me wondering if I should drop her mid- afternoon bottle and offer a snack insted.

3 meals and usually one snack. We cut out bottles between meals a while ago. She's been totally weaned from the bottle for maybe 3 weeks now but was only getting bottles at meal time since about 10 months old. I would give her the cup with formula and anythig she didn't finish she would get in a bottle right after her meal. This is how we slowly transitioned her to the cup.

Before she started this eating strike earlier this week, we'd do nurse/bottle upon wake up, breakfast immediately following, snack before nap, bottle after nap, lunch after a half hour or so, snack before afternoon nap, small snack after nap to tie her over till dinner, dinner, nurse. The nursing/bottle is so close to the meal that I'd just consider it a part of it so that's be 3 meals and 3.5 snacks. And I remember our pedi saying at the 12 mo visit to expect her meals to seem small and her snacks to seem large. So kind of like dannie was saying about grazing in the other post.

Liam turned 1 on 5/17; the week of his birthday we cut out his afternoon bottle.  Last week, we dropped the morning bottle.  So now, he nurses when he wakes up (6am-ish), has breakfast around 8am, snack around 10, lunch at noon, snack around 3, dinner at 6:30, nurses before bed.
