Early appearance

After hoping to make it to at least 37 weeks with this little one, on Saturday 2/19 I went in to the hospital at 11pm due to having regular contractions for an hour. I went in and the checked me & I had not changed anymore than my last appointment on Wednesday. But my contractions were regular enough to keep me for observation. During this time until my Dr. came the next morning I had dilated to a 3-4 & effaced to 75% with regular contractions, just not fully regular but enough to do something. So my Dr decided that instead of waiting for 2 days at the rate I was going to go ahead & start pitocin. So at 11am they started the pitocin. I had my son Brody Owen at 6:15pm, he weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. & was 20 inches long. He was 37 weeks exactly. My Dr said that if he had gone full term he would have been around 10 lbs. The day we were ready to go home they checked his billirubin levels and they were high. We ended up being in the hospital until last night & were finally able to go home. He is on a biliblanket & has to get labs to check his levels at this point daily, but atleast we are home & trying to get into a routine.
