Maternity / New Born Pictures

Hi!  I live in Hanover PA (just north of Westminster, MD).  I work in Baltimore Co, and DH works in Howard Co.

I am looking for a reasonable priced photographer in the area.  Ideally I'd like someone who has a studio (versus them coming to my home), and someone that can provide "props" for the newborn photos (think all the cute things the baby lies on in photos).

Ideally I'd like someone close by . . . Hanover . . . Westminster . . . Manchester, etc . . . I could do Owings Mills . . . or even as far as Ellicott City/Columbia (~ 1 hr from my house) . . . but I'm also thinking about traveling with a newborn to a studio an hour away might be a pain!

I also do not want to spend an arm and a leg.  It seems like a lot of the ones I;ve found online (just a quick search) are going to charge $300 just for the two photo sessions, plus you are required to buy another $300 in photos.  That seems like a lot to me.  But maybe I'm just out of the loop as to what this type of thing costs.

look for photography packages on livingsocial and groupon. i found one a while back for $99 for a 1hr session on location, then you get all the pics on a cd. my friend just got her pics back, and they're really nice. I bought a package too, but I'm having the pics taken in two months or so.

I used Courtney Anton Photography for my newborn pictures.  I do not know if she has a studio because I preferred having someone come to my house.  She came with all sorts of cute props though and my pictures turned out great.  I know she covers Baltimore and Howard county, but recall her saying that she recently moved her family to Hanover, PA.  So, if you are unable to find a studio you like at least she is located close to you and does good work.

Thanks!  A friend of mine just used a LIving Social Coupon for Picture People.  However I must have totally missed when it was posted!  Ug!

I admit I need to pay closer attention to my emails from Groupon and Living Social!

Any idea if this is something that comes up frequently?  I've only got less than 9 weeks to go, so I'm not sure if they'll offer another one "in time"?!?!  I'd like to do maternity pictures soon, and I'd like to do newborn pictures within the first 2 weeks of the baby being born!

Thanks!  I'll definitaly check her out.  Espchally if she is close to my home!  I'm not opposed to doing newborn pictures at my house, but I guess I assumed that photographers don't bring alot of props, etc with them when they come to your home.  I assumed they would prefer to shoot in thier home or studio since they know for certain what the lighting situation will be.

Hi - I don't normally post on this board but wanted to recommend Jenni at Forever-Yesterday Photography.  She's based out of Columbia and has a set-up in her home.  She's done all of my LO's photos (newborn, 6 month, 1 year, family photos at 17 mo) and I LOVE working with her.  I think her rates are listed online, but they are really reasonable and the disc of edited photos and release is included.  Our photos have all come out fabulous and Jenni is really fun/easy to work with.
