Baby hasn't pooped since Tues afternoon. The pediatrician suggested prune juice/water mix 2x/day, bicycle legs/massage, and maybe teasing her rear end a bit with a lubricated thermometer.
She is EBF, and I understand that her poop habits will change around now and she may not go every day.
She has been suuuuuper fussy today, and very sleepy as well. The fatigue is really my biggest concern - can the discomfort from constipation cause that? Or should I be more concerned?
Thanks!
Re: Constipated baby - when should I be concerned?
My ds is older than your lo...and well he has stopped going and the pedi said it was normal for his age to not go everyday...I don't know when it could start but they said that bf babies could go up to 10 days without a bm
I actually posted a question like this on bf board and the toddler board.
Put your lo on their back and lift thier legs up and down....also my mom said you can rub their tummies from top to bottom....
Did your pedi ask you if her tummy was hard or soft?? My pedi said if its soft than its ok...but if it turns hard then you need to go to the pedi office
