Did you bath your newborn as soon as the cord fell off or did you wait until it looked completely healed?

DD2s cord fell off on Wednesday and we bathed her last night.  Mainly it was because she had a blowout and the poop went up her back.

Ken got a bath 5 minutes after it fell off!

Fortunately, we saw our pediatrician the day LO's stump fell off.  She had us put rubbing alcohol on his belly button twice a day, for two more days, then advised us we could bathe him the following day.  (So we waited two extra days to bathe him).  Also, his circumcision was totally healed by that point.

I think we bathed LO the next day, but I can't remember. It could have been 2 days. His cord fell off at 7 days old and seemed healed but it did bleed and scab over 2 times after that. I know it's completely healed now. I don't think a bath would hurt though.
