TTC After a Loss

Probably a Redundant Question

I know people have talked about POM juice and pineapple core on here before. Can someone explain to me what exactly each of these foods are supposed to do to help aid in getting pregnant and when/how long you are supposed to eat them? Also, by pineapple core, you mean the actual center of the pineapple, right? Does "regular" pineapple have the same benefits? I either missed that conversation or didn't pay enough attention the first time! Thanks Big Smile

Re: Probably a Redundant Question

  • Pineapple core is common with IVF patients it apparently aids implantation... but who knows.
  • Loading the player...
  • There's stuff in the TTCAL blog about both.

But, I have the same question about pineapple vs. pineapple core.

  • There is an a post in the blog. It's an old one so you'll have to go back a ways to find it.

But short version is the pomegranate juice is supposed to thicken your lining and the pineapple core (yes, has to be the core, the core is where a chemical called bromelain is, its not in the rest of the pineapple) is supposed to aid in implantation. I've researched up and down and have found nothing legit that backs this up though.

You take the pomegranate from the start of AF until O day. And then the pineapple core from O day plus 5.

I take pomegranate and bromelain supplements. Like I said, there is no scientific proof that I've found that proves they make a bit of difference but I haven't heard anything that says they might hurt either, plus my doctor just humors me and said it was fine.
