Anyone else with long cycles and taking clomid...?

I usually have cycles 33-37 days long and ovulate around day 20-22. We have tried clomid a couple different times. First last Jan & Feb when we got pregnant with our first. We did 2 cycles of the 50mg and my ovulation kit read normal ovulation for me around day 21. We lost this pregnancy at 11 weeks. Then, got pregnant on our own (crazy!) after only 2 months of not preventing and lost that pregnancy at 5-6 weeks. This time we tried a couple of months on our own (wishful thinking!) and no luck of course. Dr gave us 50mg clomid for 1 cycle then this month bumped it up to 100mg. Now today (which is my cycle day 11) I got a high read on my ovulation kit and this usually doesn't happen for another week. I am concerned that maybe my PCOS could be affecting this result. I haven't seen a temp shift but to be honest I haven't been consistant with my times this month since I didn't think we were ovulating just yet. Has anyone else with a long cycle ovulated early while being on clomid?? Just curious and hopeful. Thanks.

I don't have long cycles really. They range from 26-33 days for me but 31 being my "norm". I'm on my first Clomid cycle and this was one of the things I wondered about. Google said it did make some O early and some later than normal so it's definitely possible. I also read that Clomid can give false positives if you take the OPK within 3 days of your last dose. But none of this info was verified by my doc so take it for what its worth! Good luck!

My RE originally put me on clomid to make me O sooner and increase my LP.  I would usually O on cd23 with and 8 day LP, so my cycles were never all that long.  Clomid moved my O date up to day 15 or 16, for 4 out of the 6 clomid cycles I've done.  I didn't respond one cycle and this one hung on until cd18.

This is true.  I take clomid cd3-7, and my RE does not want you to start using opks prior to cd10 for this reason.

I ended up having "high" readings for almost a week before my peak. It really didn't change my O day much at all. Thanks for the input though.
