Possibly pregnant question

Hope this is the right place to post this!

I'm on the BCP, and have always taken it regularly. I've been on the same pill for 4+ years, and never miss a pill. My husband and I have been busy/stressed, so our sex has petered out recently (Summer and no school is coming though!) We did have sex roughly 2 weeks ago, I'm not sure exactly when.

Anyway, I've never missed a period while on my pill. Never. This week I'm 2 days late for my period (it always comes on Tuesday, if not Wednesday). It only lasts a couple days because of the pill, but it's always here by Wednesday. I'm afraid I'm pregnant, but don't want to take a test because if/when it comes back negative I'll feel like an idiot.

I start a new pack on Monday so I'm thinking I should test on Sunday just in case?

I'd just test now, especially if you are already 2 days late.

It can't hurt to test, but I was on BCPs for years and I missed one period completely and another was super late. Both times not pregnant. Sometimes you're body will throw in some extra hormones and mess things up.

Take a test.

I took many a pregnancy test while taking the pill. Don't feel like an idiot! It is just better to have peace of mind before starting a new pack.

Test in the morning.

You're not an idiot for not knowing; it would be un-smart to start new pills without testing.

I would definitely test.  The good news is, if/when it comes back negative, and you feel like an idiot, no one will know but you.

I would test now, and if it's negative, I would test again in a couple days just to be sure. Stress can delay your period, so that could be playing a part in it if you're not pregnant..? Good luck!
