Me either, but it came up as a girl's name. It's definitely not feminine to me.

Millicent is NMS.  The rest are just ok.

I've known several female Rowan's. I actually prefer it for a girl (but maybe just because it has feminine associations for me)

Argh it irritates me that Rowan is showing up as a girl's name. I think it's going the way of Avery/Morgan/all the other male turned female names.

But other than that, yeah, your original list is probably better.
