Nap training and daycare

I'm starting sleep training this weekend and then nap training shortly after. DS has a day care provider and i'm worried she won't be able to let him cry for his naps. Did anyone else run into this? Or if LO is in daycare did they sleep train for naps while he was there?

Thank you! I'm going to talk to his DCP about it but just wanted to see what others have experienced!

From my experience DCs can't really let your kid cry it out because it ruins the naps for all the other kids there. On the other hand if your lil guy wakes up while the teachers are feeding other children or changing their diapers then they need to finish with the child they are with before they attend to the crying child, unless of course there is something obviously wrong.

I just told them his nap schedule and routine and they tried to follow it as closely as they could in a group care setting. He never did nap well at DC or at home so I never really worried or faulted them if he didn't nap well.

    HTH!

I did progressive waiting to get my lo to go to sleep on her own for naps and bedtime but at daycare they rock her to sleep. I am ok with this and it has no negative effect on her going to sleep on her own at home

It only took us 4 naps to get DS nap trained, so you may be able to do it over a weekend at home. That being said, DS still doesn't nap great at daycare. There's just too much going on there that keeps him in play mode. He naps fantastic at home, though.
