cleaning mesh feeder?

I seriously cannot ever get our mesh feeders clean.  Any idea how to do it?  TIA!

Re: cleaning mesh feeder?

  • they'll never be as clean as they started.  I just scrub it vigorously, use hot water, and a nipple brush.  You could try throwing it in the dishwasher, but you'll have to get all of the stuff out of it first.

  • I use the spray nozzle from the sink with hot hot water and then run through the dishwasher.  Not an easy task for sure - luckily now LO eats whole food so I don't use it much except for ice.

  • Love the idea of the mesh feeder but I can never get it clean either! Learned my lesson after putting banana in it a couple months ago! I think I'm just going to use it for teething now with frozen fruits/veggies. I scrub with a brush and run it through the dish washer after picking food out forever.
  • Yep...I'd say bananas are the worst! I use a toothbrush and manage to get most of the residue out.

  • Those things are absolutely disgusting.  I bought a pack of 2 and did some banana pieces once, and only once.  NASTY and hard as he!! to clean.  I gave one to my mom, who keeps my LO while we work, and we use them only for ice & teething.
