Hi there! I'm starting to head over here a little more often and thought I might intro myself before I start posting too much in case people are like, "who's this chick?!". Well, I'm LollyBug and I'll have 2u2 come November. I SAH most days of the week but for the last year DD has gone to work with me one day of the week. This past week was hopefully her last though as I feel more than ready to not have to find a way to keep a mobile baby happy and get my work done at the same time. DH will be moving to 2nd shift for about 6 weeks and will watch her until that is up and after that we'll have to find someone else. I feel like I shouldn't be excited for that work freedom because so many working moms dread it but I know my work will improve and it will help me greatly to prepare for maternity leave again at the end of the year, my craziest time. So, anway...I didn't mean to go on about that! We're looking forward to #2 though we have no idea what it will be like or how we'll handle it. We just know DD has been an amazing blessing and this next one will be as well. I hope I get to come around often and to know some of you ladies. Oh, and that none of you give me a bug to have 3u3!!! I think I'd probably end up in an institution from 1st trimester alone, it was KILLER this time! lol
Edit: Forgot my question! How far along were you when you had each LO? DD was born at 37w exactly and I'm nervous this one will come earlier, especially after seeing one siggy with a 37 weeker followed by a 35 weeker and a NICU stay. We're supposed to go out of town for 3 days when I'll be around 35 weeks. I know all babies and pregnancies are different, I'm just curious what your experiences were! TIA!
Re: In case an intro is needed...and a Q for 2u2 on the outside
My first was early but my water broke and we don't know why. We were a little concerned about #2 coming early but she ended up coming right on her due date.
Enjoy the work freedom. I worked until #2 came and now I'm home. I loved going to work and getting away though (then had to change jobs and hated it, but that's another story). I personally don't like the "big baby" stage. I love newborns and I love toddlers, but not babies.
DS1 was born at 37 weeks 6 days and DS2 was born at 40 weeks 2 days. My water broke with both kids.
My OB asked me to stop picking up DS1 and having sex at week 34 because he wanted to be on the safe side and be extra cautious to help make sure I at least made it to 37 weeks with DS2. Once I hit 37 weeks I started ignoring his request and made it a few more weeks anyway.
Haha, I've kind of noticed
Welcome! I'm also due in November!
My first was born on his due date and I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have this little one a little early. Not too early that she's not healthy...just a week or so would be amazing. As you know the end is so torturous and uncomfortable that even a day early sounds glorious to me!
I've seen you around the BMB
Don't hate me but I never got the chance to be miserably far along. I was feeling great up until about 2 days before she was born when labor had started and I didn't realize it! So this time it'd probably be my luck to go 2 weeks overdue and make up for last time!
Welcome!
My DD was born at 35w4d due to pPROM.
My DS was born at 39w4d via induction. Though, I was on P-17 and procardia through a good portion of the pregnancy to avoid a repeat of DD. I walked around 5cm dilated and 80% effaced for 4+ weeks.
But the short answer is that no, you won't necessarily go earlier. Just chat with your OB about your concerns. If there is a real reason to think you will have a preemie then you can do some preventative things.
