I wish I knew about this before our baby was born...it wasn't around with my first...anyway, my daugther is just about 6 weeks. Do you think it's too late to start using this? Is it something she could continue to get use out of for a few more months? I have read SO many great things about this product. I think I need to get one...like yesterday
Re: those who have/use the rock and play
We use it for bedtime and for a place to put lo down when he is fussy. LO loves it but isn't sleeping through the night (at all) so we are transitioning to a more flat surface. I figure if he isn't sleeping long stretches in the rock n play then he might as well sleep in the pnp.
I don't think it's too late to start using it though- it really is a life saver for when I need to a place to put him for a few.
even if you don't use it for overnight for awhile, it's a great place to put the baby down when you need to do stuff in the kitchen or take a shower, etc. since they can look around. DS seems super comfy in his and since it's good for up to 25 lbs it should last awhile.
We're still using it at night (5 weeks) but eventually I'd like to transition him to the crib or flat surface in the next month
We've used ours since day 1. DS loved sleeping in his carseat and we didn't want to do that again. She loves it.
She is STTN, and while I think a big part of it is her weight (now 13+ lbs), I also think the other part of it is the RNP. We've gotten 10 glorious hours of straight sleep out of her the last few nights. The swaddle also helps.
I don't see us stopping to use it anytime soon. We are going on vacation later this summer, and intend on bringing that with us for her to sleep in.
So my reco is to get one. We love it.
We got it at 4 weeks because we suspected DD2 had reflux and lying flat in her crib or at the angle of the pnp didn't help. She also HATED the swing. I had heard great things so I went out and bought it and expected something magical to happen. The only magic I got was rather than eating and sleeping every 2 hours at night we are now at 3 hours. We like that it keeps her at a good angle and that it is higher up so DD1 can run and play without fear of DD2 being stepped on.
We have been sleeping in the den so that DD2's crying doesn't wake DD1.
Again, hasn't worked the wonders I thought it would but it is better than her sleeping in the crib. I would reco it over a bassinet.
If you have coupons and can swing it get the deluxe one. It is more plush.
