Activities for party?

I know this must have been asked but I'm a little lazy right now, lol.

What things are you having?  We're doing our at a hall (because we have a very small house).

We're going to have kids of various ages so my orginal thought was to have playdoh set up on a table, but everything in my family thinks I'm nuts and it will make a huge mess.

I don't want to spend a lot but feel like we should have something for the older kids to do while there.

Re: Activities for party?

  • I have a weird hatred of playdoh, so I'd probably skip that, if it were me! :)

Are you having a theme for the party?  You could print out some coloring sheets and set up an art table.  Maybe even some type of easy craft?

  • I was thinking about getting plan hats and letting the kids put stickers on them.  Maybe I'll check out the dollar store.
  • I did go to a party once where they had play dough and the kids did end up making a pretty big mess and mixing it all together. Ideas from some other indoor kids parties I've been to this year - a baby pool filled with ball pit balls, push walking toys, a wagon that big kids pulled little kids around in, a little plastic bowling set, a big set of different shaped blocks, little cars, bubbles...

That sounds nice, however, we have a few "wild" children invited....  I hate to judge but some of our family does not watch there kids (who are 6 - 7 ish) and let's them do whatever they please.  There will be a bunch of 1 year olds also so I'm afraid that will end badly...

This is what we are doing an art table. I printed out colorpages that go with the theme of the party and got each kid there own set of crayons.

  • We were going to set up a bubble station. Although we're having LO's party at a park (bubbles won't make a huge mess).
