So my LO just turned 14 weeks. She still can only stay awake for about an hour - hour and 15 minutes at a time and then gets super tired and needs to sleep. On a normal day, she sleeps about 17 hours a day. That just seems like a ton of sleep, and I'm starting to get nervous that she's going to get behind on her milestones, since she's sort of sleeping away her life!
She goes to bed at about 8:30pm and sleeps until 6-7:30am with at least one waking to eat, usually around 4am (but it's quick - only 15 minutes or so), so with as much sleep as she is getting, she's still not STTN. Anyone else have a super sleepy baby? My DS was the total opposite and NEVER slept, so I'm not used to this. Is this normal?
Re: Baby still sleeping most of the day
Lucia sleeps that much. She sleeps 12 hours at night (usually 6:30 - 6:30). Then she stays up about 1.5 hours between naps, and often naps for 2 hours. She used to be more like 1 - 1.5 hours, and now she can sometimes go a little over 1.5 hours. It seems like she's asleep all the time! When she's up I feed her, but then there is so little time before she's ready for bed again.
I sometimes wish she was awake more, but I'm glad that she's getting the sleep she needs. I'm sure as they get older they will start to sleep less, and we'll miss all these good naps!
