TTC After a Loss

Back from My Endometrial Biopsy and SHG

Oooh, Lordy, I'm glad that's over.

My doctor did the biopsy first, and it was excruciatingly painful. We're talking cold-sweats-dizziness-please-just-kill-me-now kind of pain. I'm sure seeing the gigantic scissors and hearing the suction of the syringe yanking out my poor ute lining didn't help matters. Afterward, I was a cramping fool, and he went ahead with part 2, the SHG.

Cue major discomfort and more cramping. Not horrendous, but definitely not pleasant. Veganlady's account is basically how mine went. And my doctor said my uterus is "beautiful like a bartlett pear," which made me laugh (and breathe a sigh of relief). He said I released 2 eggs this month, one of which "would put an ostrich to shame." Smile

He did see a cyst that he's mildly concerned about, so I'll go back on CD7 so he can have another look.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers! Don't know what I'd do without you all.

It was a rough road, but Arlo Daniel was born April 1, 2013—and our second rainbow is due October 12, 2014.

Re: Back from My Endometrial Biopsy and SHG

  • Wow!  I'm glad that is over with.  Sounds awful!  But good to hear you have a beautiful, pear-like ute, and ostrich sized eggies!

Hope the cyst is nothing to worry about.

    ((hugs))

im glad to hear your uterus is beautiful.  I had a dr try to get some left over tissue in her office and thats pretty much how it felt for me too.

    Feel better!

  • I'm glad that you got through it, and that your ute is as beautiful as you are on the outside. I am sorry it was painful.

  • Two eggs and uterus like a pear trea (I'm singing that along to the 12 Days of Christmas Stick out tongue) Glad it went decent and it sounds like the HSG wasn't so bad at least. Sounds like you got some pretty good news too. Glad to hear it!

Why oh why don't they give women more drugs when they do these tests?! I'm so sorry for your pain! That's horrifying!

More importantly, congrats on the pretty ute and big eggs!

I'm cringing from your description.  I'm so sorry it was painful, and unpleasant.

Great news on the ute, and large eggs!  I hope you're feeling better soon.

  • I'm glad everything went ok, but sorry about your pain Sad  Fx the cyst is gone when you go back- it likely be a corpus luteum cyst, which will disappear (typically) once a new cycle starts!

My doctor said that the biopsy will tell us two things: if my uterine lining is strong and healthy and able to support a pregnancy, and if my estrogen and progesterone are in balance. :)
