Besides one extremely slight and singular incident of brownish spotting at about 6 weeks and being on progesterone suppositories, this pg was uneventful--until last night. I started spotting brownish blood and have been spotting all night--not just when I wipe (although then too) but enough to cover a liner over the course of the evening/night. Last night I also had slight cramping, like AF cramps but milder, mostly on my lower left side. That is generally gone now. I am calling the dr as soon as they open in a little over 1 1/2 hours but I am freaking out and feeling so sad!!! I thought I was probably in the clear at 11 weeks (I mc my 1st pg at 5 weeks and then had 2 healthy pgs).
Does anyone have any positive stories with this happening? I know it looks bad
Re: potentially really bad news...

I had brown spotting before my BFP, and off and on for a few weeks.
Then I went on Progesterone supplementation, and it a got a little better, but was still there.
At 14/15 weeks it was pink/red and I was crampy.
Everything was fine, but my OB never could find a reason for my spotting. It lasted well into my second tri.
I hope everything is ok.
Have you had an u/s yet?

Don't panick! when I started spotting like you at 8 1/2 weeks. I went on so many diffrent sites to see what to do. Half of them scared the hell out of me and the other half were positive. At the end of the day I suggest that you try to take it easy, and call your doctor. Your spotting does not have to mean the end of a pregnancy, many time it's nothing.
good luck and keep us posted!
I haven't had any spotting this pregnancy(touch wood), but I had period-like cramping my whole 1st trimester.
FX for you!

brown spotting is old blood. There's a good chance you irritated your cervix somehow (could have been heavy lifting, or sex, or straining to go to the bathroom). mild AF like cramps are pretty normal too.
I hope your doc was able to give you some reassurance.
