How I spent my lunch today

I saw the GYN today about my u/s and bloodwork done yesterday. My betas were 4.8 which equates to zero and is GREAT news! My u/s yesterday showed a pocket of fluid the tech showed me and we were soo confused as to what it could be.
The radiologist and my GYN thought the u/s looked totally normal. She even said my uterus was "beautiful" hehe. She heard from the nurse what the u/s tech told me and she went through all the pics with me. She said she could see the area they were referring to but it looked more like a shadow or possibly a fibroid.
B/c of my EXCESSIVE bleeding (ie saturating a super tampon in <2 hours with blood dripping down my leg and clots bigger than I had with the m/c) with "normal" beta levels she and I were both very confused. She consulted with some of her GYN colleagues about my case and they all agreed they think its just the first arrival of AF even though at the time my betas were still around 15ish.

Today with all the information we were still not 100% sure it was AF. So she did a cervical biopsy. Yes, a biopsy in the office while I was on my lunch break....NOT FUN! She said if the tissue comes back normal we will know for sure it was just AFs first arrival and we can count it as cycle day 1. If the tissue comes back abnormal, we will go in and do a D&C and clean everythign out and start back at zero. I am VERY upset about the possibility of a D&C. I took cytotec in the first place for my m/c to avoid a D&C....and now after a month I may have to have one anyways! I feel like I cant freakin win! It will take around 2 days to get my biopsy results back so we're waiting until then. I have been VERY crampy all day and uncomfortable, so I'm lounging in bed with DH and B play outside.

The good news of all this was that when we looked at all the pictures she pointed out my ovaries are hard at work (which is another indicator that possibly its AF). My ovaries each had between 6-8 follicles growing. Woah! If we get good results we are going to TTC this month I think...and pray if its positive we have a singlet and not multiples with all the dang follices!

I'm glad your doc is taking the time to do a thorough workup and consult her colleagues. I have had one of those biopsies before. It did hurt--sorry you had to have that! I have my FX that you don't need the D&C though; it's got to be a good sign that your HCG is at zero now, right?

I am so sorry you find yourself in the limbo land but I am glad your doctor is double checking things. I know the feeling of trying to avoid a D&C with Cytotec. I had to get one after 6 weeks from taking the cytotec. I know its devastating at the time but it will be ok if you need one. Physically, it was pretty easy. Just minor cramps and very sleepy. I hope you don't need a D&C and these next two days fly by. If you have any questions you can PM me!

Many T&P's for a clear biopsy, and that you can avoid a d&c. I can't imagine still having so many questions.

I'm glad that your doctor seems to really be staying on top of this, but I'm sorry that you had to have a biopsy and possibly a D & C. Keep us posted, I will hope and pray that it is AF.
