MS is getting baptized in June, and it's going to be semi-formal affair: MH and the GodF are wearing suits, and most everyone else will be in ties, button downs, slacks and dresses or pant suits for the ladies...
I need to wear a conservative dress, but I don't want to feel like a grandma either... I'd like to find something trendy conservative but I have no clue where to shop for something like this! Most of my dresses are clubby or cocktail or way to formal for this event (prom style-ish)
Any ideas???
Re: Don't know where to shop!!!
Here are a couple of ideas...but not sure what your style is or the cost you are trying to stay at. Good Luck

Budget?
J Crew, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor are all fairly conservative ships - I shop a lot there for office work clothes. But you can probably shop anywhere - even H&M has trendy stuff that is office/church appropriate - just opt for something knee length and not low cut. Even just a regular (not super short) sundress from anywhere can be church appropriate with nice heels and a cardigan.
White house Black Market, Banana Republic or Ann Taylor Loft.
For my son's baptism I wore a pencil black skirt, black lace tank top with a flower button down sweater over it from WHBM. They have lots of nice sundress now too.
Happy shopping.
Another vote for the LOFT. They have lots of pretty prints and solids. I love how dressy this one is, but it's not over the top. It's also about the accesories. You can dress up a simple dress or dress it down with a casual belt. Have fun shopping

I also like NY and Company, Ann Taylor (and Loft), Banana Republic and the Limited as well.
NY and Company has TONS of sales so if you watch you get great prices. Really depends on your budget. I also buy a lot of dresses at Dillards and I think I get more compliments on those.
