Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Less hungry/Less wet

Hello all,

I've never posted much here about my DD.  I need some advice.

Since Sunday she has been not wanting to eat much and not as wet.  Her tummy isn't hard, but is this something I should call my doc about?  This isn't like her to not eat as much.  I'd think it's teething, but she's not as wet recently.

Re: Less hungry/Less wet

  • My LO did this at near 9 months (21 lbs).  She went from having a full diaper overnight and frequently through the day to having a seemingly dry to somewhat wet diaper overnight and requiring at most 1-2 changes a day.  I thought it was teething but the teething passed and she's still not drinking as much nor as wet.  In our case, I guess it's a new phase.  At our well baby appt the Dr wasn't concerned, no sign of infection, etc.  On our list of remedies was to look for illness, decrease solids, switch from bottle to sippy cup at daycare, wait out the reverse-growth spurt, etc.  Maybe I did decrease solids a bit, but otherwise no change.

I hope your little one is ok!

  • Thank you... I'm a worry wart and ended up calling the doc.  Naturally they said to watch her a bit more for signs of dehydration: dry/cracked lips, no tears, not wetting/dark urine/strong odor, give more water if she will take it... We'll give it a shot.
