I'm actually in Athens, but travel to Atlanta to see my RE. I see Dr. Slayden at Reproductive Biology Associates in Lawrenceville. I love their practice. I've also had two appointments at the main office in Sandy Springs. But I love Slayden and I love the nurses in Lawrenceville. They're great!
I'm 29. DH is 29.
TTC #2 since 1/14
DX= PCOS and Annovulatory
Cycle #1- Failed IUI 5/12
Cycle #2- Injectibles and TI- BFP 7/13/12. Due 3/2/13
I started at Emory Reproductive Center and was less than thrilled with them. I switched to GA Reproductive Specialists in Sandy Springs and loved everything about them. Totally different world from Emory. And after one cycle at GRS, I am 33 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins. PM me if you have any questions about them!

We are brand new to this but seeing Straub at RBA. So far I will say the staff really goes to bat for us - when the in-network facility had an issue doing my HSG on day 12, the nurse called and wedged me in at the RBA facility that day (because otherwise I'd have to wait another 2 months). MH co-worker saw Shapiro at RBA and liked him; she had trouble conceiving her first and ended up at RBA after even more trouble with the 2nd. She felt he was honest and didn't push them to treatments that wouldn't work. They eventually adopted.
MH was sent to GRS for his first SA and had so much trouble getting anyone on the phone that we decided we didn't want to go there. The other place we looked at was ACRM and we liked them fine, just decided to go with RBA.
I'm (weirdly) glad to hear bad things about Emory - those are the only RE's in network for me but I have always had bad experiences with Emory so we didn't even try to work with them, despite the obvious cost savings.
Just out of curiosity, what OB were you seeing? We considered doing that too, one we know of does basic testing and meds, etc. but she was booked for months....
Good luck! You can PM me if you want more info. We see Straub again on Thurs to see what his recommendation is.
TTC since 1/11. "Unexplained" IF. 6/12 - 50mg Clomid + TI = BFN. 7/12 and 8/12 - 50mg Clomid + IUI = BFN. Taking a break and planning for a final IUI before the end of the year, but back to considering adoption. Repeat AMH of 0.67, ouch. 3rd try 10/12 - 100mg Clomid and back-to-back IUIs = BFP!
I started treatment at ACRM and after two failed IUIs and an operative hysteroscopy, the RE recommended that we move forward with IVF. I switched to Emory Reproductive Center for a second opinion, and while they weren't as organized as ACRM, I got the feeling they weren't in it for the money. We did another hysteroscopy before I started treatment again and then got PG from the first IUI with them. For that reason I think they're pretty good.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Whatever you do... Do not go to Dr. Mitchell-Leaf at RBA... the male doctors there are fine, but my OB told me she does not recommend the female doctors there.
I saw Dr. Mitchell-Leaf for over a year and she kept telling me just to lose weight. Then I asked her after several years already TTC and a year with her office, at what point should we decide there is no point continuing IF treatments and start looking into adoption. I told her my husband had just lost his job so we were going to have a break in insurance coverage and not sure what coverage would happen with his new job, so we wanted to get as much done then and take a break. She then advised me I should keep working on my weight and that we "couldn't afford adoption anyway if my husband was unemployed." I left RBA that day.
After some time back with my OB, I have now moved over to ACRM with Dr. Fogel and so far I am very pleased with her and the plans we are working through. Good luck!!
TTC for 5 years, with 2 failed IUIs. Excited to grow our family through international adoption!

I have an appointment with Dr. Denis at ACRM in a couple weeks. It will be my first appointment so I can't comment on my experience yet, but he does come highly recommended from a friend.
On a side note, would anyone be willing to shed some insight as to how much I should expect to pay for an HSG in Atlanta? ACRM charges $1,000 but that seems a little high. Is it or is that the going rate around here?
TIA!
Me 28 DH 29 ttc since January 2011
CD 3 b/w showed elevated TSH and prolactin
CD 21 b/w confirmed ovulation
1/2012 diagnosed with Hashimoto's hypothyroidism and started Synthroid
S/A awesome count and motility, kruger morphology 5%, low end of normal but RE said this is fine
HSG June 2012 - All clear
IUI + Clomid Round 2 worked!!!!
Surprisingly, mine was covered as part of the diagnostic workup (even though my insurance didn't tell me this when I called). *IF* I stayed in-network, which for BCBS included Northside radiology facilities, I think it would have been covered less any co-pay. I had a slight scheduling issue and meltdown and ended up getting it done at RBA, which was $900. I actually received the EOB from my insurance co today and they still paid part of it even though it was out of network - it got me to my deductible, too. So, in the end I paid $500. I figure we'll be writing medical expenses off our taxes this year ... so I'm cramming as much into the year as I can. I already have months of physical therapy and now this so plenty adding up.

Thanks for the insight. I guess I need to check with Northside. I tried to call the radiology dept and they told me I have to call back with the code and then they can tell me the cost to read the results, but I have to call the hospital for the price of the procedure. Then I asked ACRM when I was scheduling the consult and she gave me their price right away. My insurance will cover it 80% after deductible, but I have a $10k lifetime max for IF so I still want to do my homework and not overpay in case I end up needing all of that $ (fingers crossed I won't, but who knows at this point. )

I had my HSG at RBA a couple of years ago and it was $1800 I believe... I had better insurance then and it was covered.

I go to Douglas Women Center in Lithis Springs. They have several doctors there. The lady I see first name is Lew-Ann. Don't remember her last name since she has me call her Lew-Ann.

Oh ok, there is an OB who has an office literally 5 minutes from me house that we considered going to (the co-worker who recommended RBA used her) and I was wondering if, in this big city, it happened to be the same one! We really went back and forth between starting there and doing an RE but I felt the RE would be more comprehensive.... plus I like my OB and didn't want to leave him - but he's ONLY an OB and doesn't do any IF work.
