WDYT of Arlo?

I have been thinking about future baby names ever since we decided on a name for our little girl when I was 16 weeks along (Ella).

I want to use an A name for a future child. I love Audrey for a girl, and I was wondering what the board thinks of the name Arlo for a boy. I dont think Ive seen it on the board before. TIA!

I don't like it at all. No particular reason just sounds like a dog's name on a comic strip or something to me. Sorry.

It's nms but I wouldn't side-eye. Reminds me a bit of a dog or of Arby's.

I love it! It's classic and a little old fashioned, but still "fresh". Very refreshing and underused.

It's NMS - but it's not terrible! I don't know how fond I am of Ella and Arlo together though. I think the whole sibset/matching names idea is kind of silly - but those 2 are just too similar.

Meets all my naming criteria, so it gets a big thumbs up from me!

Haha, that's hilarious because the only place I've ever actually seen this name is on the show Justified which is set in backwoods Kentucky and the exact opposite of Brooklyn Hipster anything.

This is exactly what I was going to say.  I've only ever encountered the name on Justified, so I don't have a super positive association with it...I don't think Arlo is a very redeemable character on that show.  Sorry!

I like it. A friend of mine just named her baby boy Arlo.  It reminds me of the singer Arlo Guthrie, which is nice!

I love it!  Arlo and Jasper are my two guilty pleasure names, but DH won't go for them.  And you can't get much cooler than Arlo Guthrie- I've never seen the show PPs have mentioned.

I absolutely see it as a Brooklyn hipster name. I met a baby Arlo once, and his parents were NYC hipsters. I think it takes a level of cool to be able to reclaim this kind of name. For me, it's a guilty pleasure-- I love hearing it, but don't think I would quite have the guts to use it myself.
