Like we don't have enough to worry about - apparently, the positive OPK that I got yesterday morning was a false positive!
My u/s today had two 12mm, two 11mm, and four 10mm follicles. No signs that ovulation had already occurred. My lining was at 4.5 too. She said that it does happen. Looks like I'm still waiting to see what will happen. Perhaps this weekend. Back to the waiting game.
Re: OPK was defective!
I read your previous post this morning, what a cruel trick the OPK played on you, but I'm glad you went in for the US and found about the status of your follies.
But getting the false positive would concern me, especially since the digitals always seem to be so reliable... wising you luck for your REAL O this weekend!

My Chart
Phew! I was thinking about you all morning, racing around, trying to get your husband to the doctor's office, etc, etc. Glad to know it was a bad batch of OPKs. You should definitely call CBE with the batch number and request a refund (those things are expensive!).
Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought a positive OPK only indicated that you were gearing up to O in 12-36 hours, and sometimes people don't O even after gearing up.
In any case, I'm glad you went in for monitoring & I would totally call on that batch anyway!
You can get more than one LH surge a cycle. It's not very common, but your body can ramp up and then just stop. In my case, she could tell that it was a faulty test due to my lining and follicle size.
However, you can only ovulate once a cycle. You can ovulate more than one egg at a time and from both ovaries. I quizzed my RE today since this was so out of left field for me!
I used to ovulate twice a month every couple months. It's one of the reasons I was on BC so young.
But I am a freak medically-- and I don't ovulate twice anymore, so...
I would definitely ask for a refund on the OPKs, because they are too expensive and this process is too horrible as it is without having to deal with false alarms.
