June 2012 Moms

Weirdest Night Ever

All yesterday, I felt like a beached whale.  I laid on the chaise at work and mostly read news articles about babies and checked the bump and facebook and did nothing but feel sorry for myself and how much pain I was in.  Very productive.

Got home, and it only got worse.  I barely had an appetite for dinner, couldn't get comfortable on the couch and rolled my way to the bedroom.  By that time, I had a raging headache.  This turned in to an all-night headache, even with Tylenol, heartburn, insomnia, an insanely active baby kickboxing me, going to the bathroom every 5 minutes, etc.  Miserable.  Finally started to fall asleep around 3am, practically crying with relief as my second round of Tylenol started to work.

Dh got up to go the bathroom at this point, and I heard him hit the scale.  This happens to me all the time-when he uses it (because lord knows I'M not weighing myself), he doesn't move it far enough away from the toilet, so I kick it everytime I sit down.  I assumed he had done the same.  Although something seemed a little off, especially when I started to hear groaning a few moments later.  I ran to the bathroom and found him laying on the floor with blood everywhere.  He had passed out, hit his head on the bathtub and cut his lip on the toilet.  Apparently he had a random panic attack of some sort.

So there was a mostly naked pregnant lady trying to crouch down and help her delirious husband on the bathroom floor-could have been a scene from a movie or something.  After about 10 minutes of helping him calm down, I finally got him back to bed, and neither of us fell asleep for another hour.   I'm thinking I'll be leaving work early this afternoon and forcing him to come home to rest.

Too much drama for this mama.  Makes you realize how much you love and need your significant other-I can't imagine raising this child without him, and I'm so glad that he was ok in the end.  Although he might argue otherwise, as he has a huge bump on his forehead now.

In happy news, I'm officially 35/35 today (although my ticker doesn't seem to want to work in Firefox, so it looks like I'm perpetually stuck at 34 weeks-boo).  What a way to ring in the milestone!  ;)

Hope all of you had a much more restful night than I did. ;)

  • Oh good gracious! What an adventure! I am so happy to hear that YH is okay - I cannot imagine how scary that must have been. Has he been to a Dr to find out why he passed out? I mean, panic attacks are one thing, but passing out from one? Scary!

*hugs* I know that this is a really tough time in pregnancy - being uncomfortable and nothing helping with anything that we are going through. It sounds like things have been a struggle and that is shiddy.

  • Thanks for the commiseration, guys. ;)

Dh seems to be doing better today-I'm still going to pick him up early from work.  I had to come in today as we have two new team members I'm in charge of training, and I needed to get things set up for them.  But I'm def. leaving after my last meeting ends at 2:30.

I'm still feel miserable-Baby kicking is starting to make me nauseous.  Is that happening to anyone else?

Oh my goodness! What a crazy night for you. I'm glad he is okay. I went to bed at like 5am so I didn't get much sleep myself, but at least I didn't have so much drama!
