Breastfeeding/Pumping Moms - Le Leche League

-->

Wow, just went on this website for the first time and I feel so much better about breastfeeding! All the forums and support and breast pump advice (many brands/pumps/styles that haven't been brought up here that I now plan on researching) make me feel so inspired & supported as someone who wants to breast feed but has to return back to work at 7 wks and it can be accomplished!

www.llli.org, I'm interested in looking for a local Cincinnati Ohio group now.

{I moved this from the Sept. 2012 board}

    That's great, I'm so glad that you have utilized the resources out there.  You can do it!  Breastfeeding is one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life, but also one of the most rewarding.  Seeing your LO grow and thrive and the bonding is amazing.  Just know that if you hit bumps along the way, which is likely to happen that you ARE NOT a failure.  Best wishes!

  • Did you also know that there is a local store in Montgomery called Blue Cocoon. They are a great resource for breastfeeding. This place has been my rock as I have gone through pregnancy and soon to have my LO Smile. The owner is a nurse and lactation specialist.

    I have joined the moms group and talking with other moms about what to expect has been so amazing... They really have supported me and I know when I need help, advice etc.... I can call them. I don't have as many fears about BF as I did.

    Good luck!

    There's a LLL group that meets once a month at a church in Hyde Park. You should be able to find the contact person on the website. If you can't find it, message me back here and I'll give it to you.

  • With my first one I purchased bras at Walmart and Target but they did not fit right. I felt like I compromised on them. They poked me all the time and I got a breast infection (don't want that again) and after a bit they started to get holes. Poor quality and design...I just felt like they added hooks to regular bras.

     This time around I went to Blue Cocoon and got measured and fitted for free, the bras are amazing (I have one on now) the price I thought was great. The one that I have on now can be converted to a regular bra down the road if I want to. I am willing to pay the price for quality and support a local business!
