At 12 months we replaced DD1's after nap bottle with a sippy. At 13 months we replaced her wake up bottle with a sippy, and at 14 months the bedtime bottle was replaced by a sippy. She barely noticed the transition.

DS is 12 months today! I am starting whole milk in his bottles (as of last weekend) by mixing in and then for the actual bottles themselves .. I am going to try dropping one bottle at a time cold turkey starting with his one after his afternoon nap. I doubt he'll like the sippy even though he knows how to use it but I'm just going to give him the sippy and a decent snack to fill the void. Next to go will be the one before his nap (little stressed on that one). Third bottle out will the be the morning one and I'll probably keep the night bottle for a little bit longer for everyone's sanity! Ideally I want to ditch all bottles except for maybe the night one over the next two weeks. Daycare will definitely want to the day ones gone as soon as possible since he's now in the one year old room. Good luck!
We're sort of in the process now. My DC asked us to provide 1-2 oz portions (we have to make all bottles/cups) of breastmilk for a sippy cup rather than a bottle starting right at 8 months. I was doing his usual 3 - 4 oz bottles + 1 oz in a sippy cup (this applies to the 4 days/week I work...he nurses the other 3 days when with me, no bottles or sippies).
Two weeks ago, DC said we could do more in a sippy since he was taking it so well and finishing. So I did 2 - 4 oz bottles, 1 - 3 oz bottle, and 2 oz in a sippy. Last week, she made him a 2nd cup and we've been doing 2 - 4 oz bottles, and 2 - 2 oz sippy's so far this week, and he's taking both cups great. I feel pretty confident we'll be off bottles by 10-11 months or so. I'm sort of in shock...my boy is growing so fast! I don't think I would've even thought to try bottle weaning if not for our DC and her knowledge of starting around 8-9 months with them...of course, all babies learn at their own pace but my boy took right to it. GL!
