TTC after 35

Progesterone issues- vent

I'm supposed to be taking 300mg this cycle, that's 1 suppository 3 times a day. I started on Saturday night. I'm just not sure I can tolerate this dosage, I didn't think an extra 100mg would make that big a difference but it totally is. I'm getting headaches and just in general feel awful nevermind the mess this stuff creates.

I might do 300mg every other day. Spoke to my acupuncturist and I acknowledge she's not an MD, but she did say many of her clients get their periods right on time when taking the progesterone, so what's been happening to me each cycle, is not uncommon. I'm not convinced that adding this extra dosage will have anything to do with me getting a bfp or not. I really hate the stupid progesterone, it's the worst..

oh gees.  I have a prescription for the exact same dose and application.

But I am not supposed tostrt until confirmed bfp.  I have been looking forward to having an opportunity to  use it t but now I'm starting to worry.

I really feel for you. I had a hard time @200mg/day, I can't imagine 300. It really does suck.

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

  • I was on progesterone with DD#2. Started with the suppositories that had to be refrigerated and taken several times a day -- told them that with travel for work this wasn't going to work out. So I took Crinone gel -- no refrigeration and it was once a day right before bed. That was nice because I slept right through the symptoms. Don't know if using that type instead would help you but thought I'd throw it out there.

  • If the progesterone is really bothering you, why not call the nurse or RE and tell them it is intolerable? There is so much ART to this that they may have just thought, couldn't hurt, but yes, it is hurting.
