my son sleeps through the night as long as he's in bed with us. in the evenings, if he is already asleep, we can put him in his crib, but as soon as he wakes that's all she wrote. he won't go back to sleep until we move him to our bed, and the he sleeps like a log.
so last night we tried to start cry it out - and he cried and screamed until he threw up. i just can't bring myself to do that with him.
what have you used other than CIO?
Re: sleep method other than CIO
I second the NCSS. It takes a little longer than CIO, but I like it. CIO doesn't work for DD either. I tried it and she just screamed for about an hour until she was shaking so hard I thought she was having a seizure. She also kept falling over and banging her head on the crib. Definitely not for us.
We recently had a bit of a setback when DH went out of town, but I think the NCSS is starting to work for us. It's worth a shot.
