Ergo v. Boba G2

Hello-- I am in need of some advice. We are traveling to Italy next month for two weeks with LO. I had pretty much made up my mind that I was going to suck it up and spend the money to buy an Ergo to take with us (we will obviously be out and about quite a bit and so I want to babywear and have heard how comfortable the Ergo for long lengths of time). However, I was checking out my local craigslist and there is a boba g2 carrier for 60 dollars. This seems like a good deal but I dont know a lot about the boba. Any thoughts? Should I still spring for an Ergo instead? LO is about 15 lbs and he was 26 inches at his 4 month apt. if that makes any difference. Thanks so much for your advice!

I LOVE my Boba G2.  I paid about that much for it when they were releasing the current ones.  Not sure how well it works with a 5 month old (I think it's recommended for 6 months and up), but it's fantastic for babies within the size range!  It also lasts well into toddlerhood.

  • I have the 3G which snaps down vs having an insert like the Ergo, but DS is so tall I just froggy him in it without it being snapped. So you could do that with the G2 if you had to. I personally prefer Boba over Ergo. I know people at playgroup who started using it around the 4-5 month mark prior to the release of the 3G, maybe the seller would be willing to let you try him in it before committing.
