During my baseline appt last week, I had an 11mm follicle, 9mm, and 4 - 7mm follicles. RE was a bit surprised that they were so large before we even started Femara.
So, I started testing this morning. I got a smiley face at 6 a.m. When I pulled out the stick, the line wasn't as dark as the control. In fact, the line was quite light. I took another test at 10. It was an empty circle. I called my RE because the same thing happened last month. She had me go out and buy a new box because she thinks I had a false positive and a defective box. I got an empty circle at 2. I'm going in for a u/s tomorrow to see what is really going on. Ugh!!!! I hate the hurry up and wait!
Re: OPK is messing with me....
I also don't think you can tell anything by breaking open a digital opk.
Was the 6am your FMU? possibly it wasmore concentrated so it gave you that positive? I hope the u/s clears everything up....this must be adding some stress.

The weird thing is the way the line looked. The CB OPK's have a digital piece and you click in the sticks. Usually, the stick has a nice dark line and the circle at the end is mostly dark. The test at 6 a.m. had a really light line and the circle was only partially shaded. RE said that the test that I took 4 hours later should have been positive too. We'll just have to see what the u/s tomorrow morning says.
This is one of the downfalls of the digital OPK -- especially if you have a short surge. For example: my doctor tells me to test in the early afternoon. Let's say I test on Monday at 1:00 PM and get a negative. Then, the next morning, I get panicky and test again (even though my dr has said the best chance of catching the surge with an OPK is in the afternoon). I get a positive at 6 AM on Tuesday. I test again at 1:00 pm on Tuesday and get a negative. I could have had the surge from 1:15 pm on Monday until 12:50 pm on Tuesday and still would have only gotten the positive OPK once!
Anyway, I hope that your appointment tomorrow goes well!
