Hello 7 weekers!
I am about 7 1/2 weeks pregnant and am pretty much sick around the clock. It goes in waves as far as how bad it is, but I am nauseous and exhausted basically all the time.
Anyone else have this problem? How did you handle it with your work? I've taken everything I can take, done all of the recommended things, and I even have a prx for zofran. My boss is being understanding so far, but I have a feeling this is going to be a super sick pregnancy. I'm worried that they'll lose patience with me quickly.
I'm also an author, and my first book will be published in August, but it will probably be a couple of months after before I start seeing royalties. I hope it does well, because I would love to be able to work from home for my part of the income.
Appreciate any advice or encouragement. TIA!
Re: 7 weeks and nauseous all the time
Hello, I am also in my 7th week and extremely sick...my doctor gave me Zofran for the nausea, but it does nothing for the gross build up of saliva in my mouth. This is my 2nd child (my oldest is 14...yikes...lol) and I can't remember being this sick the first time around.
I was hoping to wait to tell my employer about my pregnancy until I was in my 2nd trimester, but I was afraid that they would not understand my change in mood unless I explained it to them.
Right now, I can barely eat anything and would do anything to get this taste out of my mouth...any suggestions?
Good Luck to you all and I hope everyone is feeling much better soon!

Ask yourself what you want to eat, then try it one bite at a time. If the first bite is bad just try some other food. Or it could be that you need to eat that food one bite at a time. So just take another bite then do some work. Take another bite and do some more work. Repeat until the food is gone. But then you might need to get more food to eat at your desk.
Grazing through the day is a good way to provide "continuous" nutrients for you and your growing baby.
At least that is what works for me when I feel nauseous.

I've been super sick the last few weeks as well! My Dr. gave me an Rx for Zofran and it seems to be working although I do have some breakthrough nausea at times...(right now being one of those times). In the literature my Dr. gave me, it does say that you can take 25mg B6 twice a day to ease nausea. I've only been able to eat carbs and yogurt. No meat and no veggies, which I know is bad but I can't stomach anything else. I would try Zofran or B6 and lots of sleep! Good luck
I am feeling the same way too. I have my first appointment with MD next week but I think that this is going to be a wait-it-out process. I am just hoping and praying that the nausea will subside by the second trimester. Thank goodness it has only been nausea so far and nothing worse!:)
To battle the rediculous fatigue I've been feeling, I found it very helpful to excercise every day. I jog/walk at a face pace on an incline-nothing too crazy. Also eating every 2-3 hours, rather than usually waiting until I'm starving has almost completely eradicated my nausea issues (that and not taking all of my pre-natals at the same time-I know spread them out throughout the day and eat them only with food)..
I've been nauseous quite a bit this week; no puking but I'm hungry, not wanting to eat anything though. I've been just feeling nasty I've been continuing to work, just munching on cheerios at my desk
Cheerios and peanut butter have been helping me, frequent small meals. This morning hasn't been the best... I ate a pb english muffin (usually a safe food for my stomach) but I just feel like going back to bed!
Hope you start feeling better!
I'm struggling here!!! I keep reminding myself that this blessing is worth. Doc perscribed me something to help with the nausea, but after popping two since Wednesday, it's no longer working neither is ginger ale (my favorite). What I find hilarious is that when baby is ready to eat, I still eat. Thank God no vomiting.
