TTC After a Loss

Low progesterone - what symptoms do you line up with it?

For those of you who have low progesterone, I'm curious what "symptoms" you have that lined up with this? I am seeing my Dr. for more testing later this week and would like to bring up some of it with her. She is suspicious I have low progesterone as am I.

There is tons of stuff all over about it but I'm having trouble sifting through what's credible and what isn't. I'm just curious for those of you who do have low progesterone, what symptoms do you have along with it that your Dr. confirmed are connected?

  • just low progesterone. I've found with mine that it was a sign that the pregnancy wasn't going to work. No symptoms other than low progesterone serum.

  • I had no symptoms. My LP has always been 14 days. I don't spot before AF. Typically a short LP or spotting in the LP is due to low progesterone.

My LP is always on the shorter side of normal (11days) but I don't spot and my temps always look pretty good.  But all pgs i've had low progesterone... even medicated i've never had a number over 20.

  • For me it was a short LP and low LP temps, combined with the fact that we've had a loss. I was never diagnosed with low progesterone officially - but my doc is of the mindset that it "can't hurt and can only help" so I was put on progesterone supplements as a precautionary measure. I take them once I confirm O through 14dpo, and if BFN, I stop to allow AF to arrive (typically about 2-3 days later). If/when I get a BFP, I'll continue the supps through the first tri.

ETA: I forgot to add spotting during my LP to the list of symptoms.

  • My LP was only about 11 days. Low LP temps. I had acne. The mood swings - which I still have prolly from the Clomid though! And I have a low sex drive.

  • Thank you ladies. Appreciate it. I keep reading a variety of low prog. symptoms can mimic hypothyroidism so I plan to discuss a few of those things with my Dr.
