The paperwork my RE gave us said to not have sex after CD8 or 9 until the day DH gives his sample. We go in for our ultrasound tomorrow on CD12 so that would be the earliest we would trigger and I'm guessing the IUI would be on CD14 (assuming things were on track). But my question is why so long of a wait? We don't have any sperm issues (knock on wood).
We actually got busy this morning (CD11) and I'm honestly not the least bit worried...I'm kind of looking at it like an extra "deposit". But I am curious if others were told to wait that long too? I'm guessing he just has a generic handout and would rather ere on the side of caution for those with sperm issues.
That being said we don't plan on breaking any more rules until after we talk to him and verify we aren't screwing things up!
I meant to ask my RE this and a few other questions at my last visit but of course I forgot!

That seems like an awful long time. We were only told to not have sex for 2 days prior to the trigger (IUI was the following morning). I'm curious what your dr says.
Good luck tomorrow!
I'm doing IUI, but just wanted to add, MH didn't even have to abstain that long before his SA. Maybe they want to make sure they have an amazing sample after wash?
IMO, from what I've heard/ read, since you have no MFI you may have done yourself a favor. I've always heard that abstaining too long can hurt a sample too. I'm sure you will be ok
Good luck at your appointment tomorrow and let us know what your RE says about the abstaining period!
