Thick vat whales vs old thin whales a question

Hi there,

I used to have an aialik vat which I loved, and I have a maruyama. I find with the thinner wraps that the 4.5m length is fine for me. I wrap in the tails but it's not a squeeze.

With thicker wraps I like a longer length more like 4.9m.

Does anyone know if the new thick whales wrap in a similar way to the older thin whales? Would I want a 4.5m in the thicker ones or should I go with a 5m?

Anyone compared the two?
