Boy name assistance, please

We like names like Isaac, Chase and Blake. Our last name is O'D_____ and of Irish decent. Isaac was 35 on the SSA 2011 list and we are not sure we want to stick with such a popular name although in NJ it was 75.


My dad is Dennis...DH keeps throwing this out as an option. I just have a hard time picturing this name on a kiddo under 25 years of age.  Are there any NN for this?

Regardless of FN, MN will *most likely* be William. 

Any other suggestions are welcome, we are not sold on any of them just yet.

I think Blake William sounds great.

The only nn I can think of for Dennis is Denny. 

Other suggestions: Dean, Benjamin, Levi, Henry

I don't know what it is about the name Isaac, but I can't stand it. My pick would be Blake Dennis. Dennis is a family name for me, too, so I can understand wanting to use it. It's just so unattractive to me. If you choose to use it, though, I sort of like the nn Denny.

I grew up with a guy named Dennis and have a friend about 30 years old who is a Dennis.  The one that I grew up with went by "Denny" until he went off to college, but some of still call him that.

 Connor- it doesn't roll well with our last name...and his mom's maiden is O'Connor so I thought it would be a nice tribute.

Ryan- LOVE IT, but I nanny for a Ryan and see a private kiddo for 5 years Riley.

I love the name Isaac, and even though it's "popular," I really don't hear it all that often. I also like the name Blake. I am not a fan of Chase or Dennis, though.

I am loving Chase William. We will see :-) This baby name board is SO helpful! I love all the insight.

I love Dennis, but that's because I have an uncle Denny so it has a very positive associate for me.  You can also use Den as a nn. Dennis William O'D- sounds perfect to me.

I felt the same way and recently realized it reminds me of the movie Children of the Corn, so that's why I don't like Isaac.
