So I'm Melanie. My fiance and I have a soon to be 3 year old son and just after Christmas we decided to ttc #2. With our son it was so easy, first month and we were pregnant. We assumed it would be the same this time. I stopped taking the pill and since then my once regular cycles (even before my son when I wasnt on bcp) started going out of whack. I went from 29 days up to 34 days. 17 day average LP. I used to be 28 days and 14 LP. After a couple of months we decided to use OPK's. We got pregnant right away. But I didnt know. Around 10dpo I started bleeding. Just lightly, and pink. I thought my period had started early 2 days later it stopped. A few of my NFP gurus told me to test and to my utter surprise it was +. The next day the bleeding started again. By then it was the weekend so I called my doc Monday morning and was sent for blood tests. It came back positive, but very low, the pregnancy tests were coming back fainter and fainter so when I really started bleeding I already knew the results of my second round of blood tests which confirmed a miscarriage. I wasnt far along 5 weeks when I got the final blood tests but it was still rough. My doc said that even though this was our first loss she will be following us closely next pregnancy, extra appointments, extra ultrasounds (in Canada you usually only get 1 maybe 2 unless medically needed). I found out a week later that the medications I'm on for my bipolar disorder and sleep disorder have a low risk of miscarriage so I stopped those, and that is also partly why my doc wants me in there more. We got the go ahead to ttc right away since my body knew what to do and no medical intervention was necessary. Jonathan has preferred to act as if it didnt happen so I have been relying on my bff dylan (who is looking forward to being a godfather so he's insanely supportive) but its still stressful with my son I wasn't ever worried, now all I'm going to do is worry next time.
