So, a patient of mine mentioned several months ago that crystallized ginger really helped her with her nausea during chemotherapy. (For those who haven't seen this item, it is basically like a gummy candy covered in sugar but made primarily of ginger.) Naturally, I was intrigued and made a mental note of it. I saw it at Kroger today, so I bought some. I haven't had full blown nausea but lots of queasiness, and I thought this might help. It was nasty! So nasty I had to spit it out. DH said it wasn't too terrible.
Anyways, just wanted to offer a warning. Has anybody else tried it and liked it?
Re: crystallized ginger (warning)
I have had it and liked it, it really helps settle my stomach. Maybe try some ginger tea with honey? It is a little spicy.
I've had it, not too bad, but I've just been sipping ginger ale when I feel really nauseated.

Hi dlbrous, are you a nurse too? If so *nurse high five*
I have enjoyed crystallised ginger in the past and have found it really helpful to combat my nausea. I love ginger ale too and I often give this to nauseated chemo patients to help take the edge off.
Tonight I found that I have a stash of ginger tea, which has a bit of natural sweetener in it, so I think this will become my friend too.
I LOVE crystallized ginger, I bought some pre-pregnancy just to eat but for non ginger lovers it's pretty intense (my bff thinks it's disgusting). The Yogi ginger tea is really good though, and not as intense as crystallized or pickled ginger. You can also brew it to the strength you want, which is nice and work up to the intensity you can 'stomach'.
Water with lemon has been really helpful for me as well. It was my savior a few days ago when my nausea was really bad.
