laundry

When DS was first born, I always washed all his clothes, towels, etc. separate than my own clothes. I just kind of got in that habit. Just dawned on me that its probably easier to throw his stuff in with mine. Just more out of curiosity, do you wash LO's clothes separate or all together?

Re: laundry

  • Usually seperate but the kids laundry basket usually is a full load so it just works out that way. It's not because I'm picky or anything like that....LOL.

I wash everything together with free and clear detergent.

  • I wash DD's with mine, but I don't wash them with DH's, just because his clothes seem smellier than ours. Silly, I know.

She doesn't go through as much laundry anymore, so I usually throw her stuff in with my whites.

  • Separate...for no real reason other than that's the way the loads round out. Her basket is usually fully by the end of the week.

If I need to round a load of anything but barn clothes I'll throw some of her stuff in.

I do like to wash her stuff separaretly because I'm not great about the bibs and we're outside a lot so her clothes take a lot more oxi-clean/bleach and hot water than my usual....but I'm by no means obsessive about it.

I've never separated our laundry.  We use a family-friendly detergent (Charlie's Soap) or I make my own, so there's no issue with sensitivity.

I was her clothes separately but only because I just take her dirty hamper and throw the whole thing in the wash.  I don't use any special soap or anything.

  • I've never kept LO's clothing separate from the rest of the family.  If I did, I'd be spending more time tied to that machine than I already do.

  • Together. I just switched everything to a free and clear detergent.
  • All together.  I'm tired.  I don't have time for the little things like separating laundry.  It makes my life marginally easier.  I'll take it when I can get it.

  • I do it separate only because the loads work out that way. Plus, when I fold her clothes I sit on the floor in her room and do it. She likes to "help" me. I use the same free and clear detergent for it all!

  • Everything gets washed together, except for I do a separate load of my work clothes in hot water apart from anyone else's. I work in an ER. Too many germs on them by the end of a 12 hour shift. I have a separate hamper and everything. Otherwise, all other clothes get washed together in the tide free and clear detergent. Both my kids have really sensitive skin.

  • I still separate it.  Not really sure why...I just do it automatically.

  • I wash them separate just because there is always enough for a load. I do laundry 2x a week and he has enough dirty clothes to do one wash, no other reason..

  • DH takes care of his own laundry and I take care of my own laundry so I wash mine and DS together. We're still using Dreft because its cheap through subscribe and save on amazon

  • I was just thinking about this last week.

I think I'm going to start doing all of our stuff together.  Every once in a while I would throw his stuff in with mine, but I  typically do all the loads separate.  I think doing it together will make my life much easier.

  • Sometimes separate and sometimes together - depends on how much laundry I have. I use a free and clear detergent for all of us so it's no big deal to combine all of our laundry.
