xp: recommend your jogging stroller

We are going to get a jogging stroller (will be used on pavement, mulch, and gravel).  We really want one that is super easy to fold and is somewhat compact.  Thanks!

  • I had both the InStep Grand Safari and the Baby Trend Expedition EX, and I personally thought that the Baby Trend was slightly better. However, if you can afford it, I would recommend that you get a BOB or Baby Jogger brand.

  • I love my Bumbleride... I've never run on a trail with it, but it handles well when we go walking through the dirt. I'm not a super runner, but I jog with it on the pavement about 6 or so miles a week and have never had a problem.

  • You can't go wrong with a BOB for a true jogging stroller.  With joggers you will get what you pay for.  Get one that has an option to lock the front wheels and unlock for when you are not jogging.  BOBs fold super easily, but they are not compact.  I don't think there is such thing as a true jogging stroller that is compact, kind of an oxymoron I think.  Maybe go to a local store and try some out?
  • We have the baby jogger city mini elite and LOVE it. You can try it out at buy buy baby. The city mini is great too but this one is more rugged and more for outdoors but not as crazy (shocks and huge) as the BOB.

  • I have the BOB revolution and love it.... pushes and turns like a gem. Folds easy with one hand but isn't super compact. We leave our open because it does fold flat, but doesn't stand up when it's fold so there isn't really anywhere to store it (I guess it'd store fine in your car trunk or maybe under a bed but definitely not in a coat closet).

My thoughts exactly!  We have a BOB and a Chariot. I like running with the Chariot better.  It's a smoother ride for DD.  It also has a bike attachment (why we bought it initially).  However it does not fold as well as the BOB.

  • I got a used BOB for $75 at a consignment sale.  I think that was a good price and we like it so far.  I'm not a huge runner BUT I wanted to have the option.

  • I have the BOB Revolution Duallie and LOVE it.  My brother has the single and that was what prompted me to get it.  We use it at the beach (in the sand), on the grass, gravel, just went to Hershey Park with it and I was so happy to have it.  I was torn between the BOB and the Bumbleride but I went with it because I liked the bigger tires knowing that I do a lot of trail walking and being in the grass.  I have a friend that has the Bumbleride single and got a City Select (with extra seat) and she came with us to Hershey Park and kept saying that she was kicking herself for not getting the BOB.

  • You might want to check out for Baby Jogger FIT. It's a fixed front wheel single jogging stroller with 20 lbs weight only. BJ FIT is pretty easy to fold and comes in slim and compact shape in collapsed dimension.
