help me with picking a hair color

Okay I have natuarlly dark brown curly hair (with some greys on one side that I want to keep covered).  I currently have quite blonde highlights that are growing out and in need of attention.  If dh had his way I'd be totally blonde, but the maintenance would be horrible with how fast my roots start showing and looking bad even with just highlights.  I'm thinking of going back to my natural color, or natural color with some more subtle highlights that won't show so bad when they grow out.  Any picture suggestions?  Websites that would be helpful to me?  tia
