Third C-Section Question

Hi ladies,

This will be our third c-section, just curious how different the third might be from the first two. We had no complications, but each time I noticed my scar is a bit bigger and I have a bit more loose skin.

Anyone have any experience with 3 or more c-sections?

Re: Third C-Section Question

  • I've had 3 and will have #4 around end of September. I don't have any more loose skin than before with the 3rd c-section, but my scar is a tiny bit longer, and I'm a lot more numb in my lower abdomen.

Other than that, the 3rd c-setion went well.

  • I am wondering the same thing...this will be my 3rd c/s as well and the first planned one.  !st was an emergency, 2nd was a failed VBAC

My scar is about a half and inch longer on each side than it was with my 1st but no extra skin...maybe they can tuck while in there :)

I just had my third c/s (and tubal) yesterday, so I can only speak to the initial recovery, but it actually has been so much better than my first two.  I'm kind of sore overall, but my incision is actually not bothering me much.

  • My 3rd section was my easiest so far. My scar actually looks smaller this time too. I have no extra skin or sagging that wasn't there before. The only difference is I'm still having some pp bleeding at almost 4 weeks, much longer than any of my other sections
  • My 3rd C/s took a little bit longer & was more uncomfortable. A LOT of pressure. My scar looks the same though & no loose skin. I'm having my 4th in a few months.
  • My 3rd took longer....i remember saying to myself...hurry up and get him out!  From the initial incision until he was out was 19 minutes with my first it was 3 so definitely longer but my recovery was by far the easiest.  I had zero pain...a title discomfort and soreness but ZERO pain.
