Warning about using formula checks at Target

Hey ladies! I just wanted to let everyone know that I went to Target this morning to buy some formula and use an Enfamil check that I got from a fellow February Mommy and when I got to the register the girl says "I need to see your ID" so I just look at her puzzled and hand her my license. She then proceeds to tell me she cannot accept the Enfamil check because my name is not on there. I said "it's just used like a coupon...." and she said "no it's used like a check and that's not your name". I was furious!!!!!! She said this is their new policy so I just wanted to let everyone know to take your formula checks that you trade with people elsewhere!! I think it's absolutely ridiculous!

that sucks!! i just used one at target yesterday (from another bumpie) and she didnt ask me for mine.

How annoying. The store gets the money either way. For as much as I love Target's stuff, they bug me as a whole.

What?! Thats ridiculous! I just used mine earlier this week and they didnt ask. What a pain!

I've never had that problem at Target! I use checks from my mom and MIL (I totally signed them up on the Enfamil site) all the time, and Target almost always has the $10 GC offer when you buy two refill packs, so it's a better deal. I also send my husband by himself with the checks with no problems.

I've run into that problem before too! I just showed her on the check where it said that it is to be treated as a coupon. I also told her I called the formula company and they said that the coupons can be used by anybody. The cashier let it go. It's not like you are signing it or something.

Last time I went to Target the cashier didn't know how to run the checks and called the manager over.  He asked for ID and I told him they were from my cousin, he said "he "would let it go this once" but I hope it doesn't happen again, I get so many free trades on these boards.

 

Anyone have problems at other store..Walmart, BRU?

This happened to me too! I had the baby, a full cart with other coupons and a huge line behind me! I was sooo furious, especially because earlier in the week I used it. I had the manager come over an she said the same thing. I kinda went on a rant about if they are planning to have this rule them they need to have consistency within the store and other stores. To no avail, I asked for all my coupons back and left a cart full of bags and walked out. I hoped the frozen ice cream melted all over everything!

I did find that BRU will take two at a time and sometimes they offer discounts.

I've had this happen at Walmart and BJ's, though they've also gotten through at both stores.
