FB strikes again...(pg mentioned)

So I just got a private message on Facebook from a friend of mine from high school informing me she is expecting an LO in December (my EDD was 12/12/12) so I'm feeling just flucking fantastic.  Not only that but she went on to tell me how they weren't TTC and this was such a surprise for them so she is excited but overwhelmed.  Ugh ugh ugh.  So I call my mom bawling and get lectured for being bitter and not being happy for the joys of others.  Clearly should have come here first...I know you ladies understand.

(((Hugs))). That just plain sucks. I say, go ahead and tell her EXACTLY what happened to you. Make her realize that she needs to be more careful with the way she's announcing... it could hurt people without her ever meaning it. 

As far as the convo with your mom goes, I totally understand that too. My mom describes her two pregnancies as "nothing but fun" and they both resulted in my sister and I. Therefore, she has no freakin' clue how bad things can go. She was a great supporter to me during my m/c and the few days after. But now she can't seem to understand why I'm not "over it". My EDD is a month away and I've been told "you gotta let that go!". Ugh. Sometimes it just takes someone who's been through the same thing to truly understand. I get it.

Do something nice today, you deserve it!

Thank you ct!! This is exactly what I needed to hear. My mom was amazing the first week or so after my MC but she thinks I should be over it by now. Sorry I don't fart rainbows everytime I find out someone else is pregnant.  It still hurts.  And it's nice to be able to come here and vent without the lectures and judgment.  I think I will say something to her.  Lots of women go through losses so she could potentially hurt more than just me.   I think I will go get a pedicure!!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I think it's perfectly normal to feel this way. I had a CP around the same time you m/c and it's still hard for me everyday. I have a good friend who is pregnant and I'm excited for her but she is really supportive and doesn't go on and on about her pregnancy with me.

Your mom needs to understand that it takes a while to move past this, and you will never forget your angel baby. It's not bitter. I just feel like it's hard to be around or hear about pregnancies when the pain is still fresh.

Im so sorry. I know it stings every time we see someone pregnant or hear about someone being pregnant. Especially if you hear more detail about it like you did. I wonder, and I may not know the whole story, why did she email you? Is she a close friend that should know your struggles?  And I totally understand about people thinking you should "be over it". I don't have a good support system either and it stinks! Thats why I am here. Im sorry again and I agree with the PP, you should say something and definitely go do something nice for yourself!

So we were best friends in high school and there are a few of us who stay in touch but aren't super close.  She doesn't know about my struggles but that group likes to share good news individually before posting it on FB.  I'm sure her post will be next so she will be on my "unsubscribe list" soon enough...

I've never been so grateful for a change on FB as that one. So much better than unfriending everyone.

I totally understand. There is a girl at my school who is due just a few weeks after when I was. Her belly started really poking out in the last week and I get irrationally upset every time I see her.

BLAH!, recently I hate those announcements as well!  I'm giving you every right to be bitter, just not mean
