I vote for a mei tai...I loved ours because it was fast and easy, but felt more secure and stable...With my ring sling, I felt like I needed to support DD with one hand. Also, the two shoulder carry with the mei tai was more comfortable for me than the one shouldered ring sling carry.
I've never tried a mei tai. I love my sling for quick trips into shops etc, it's comfortable for a couple of hours. If I'm doing a hike or something though, I prefer the load being spread between both shoulders.

my meitai (infantino) isn't exactly hot weather friendly- make sure whichever one you get is breathable. regardless of temp, i'd rec a mt over rs since it will be better for longterm use.

Someone suggested the Bali Breeze to me when I asked this question a while ago. That led me to looking at gauze cotton wraps and slings on Etsy.
These are the ones I'm looking at (sorry no clicky, don't know how):
