Ok, I may get flamed for asking this but is beef brisket from a bbq restaurant considered deli meat in the sense of it carrying listeria bacteria? I ate a big sandwich tonight of beef brisket and then I got to thinking that it may be lumped in the same category. Either way, it was delicious, just wondering now. Thanks.
Re: Beef brisket question
#1 it's not "deli meat"
#2 it's heated
You are fine on both accounts.
Agree, it's not lunch/deli meat...
and I have eaten lunch meat unheated, sushi, medium steaks, etc. my entire pregnancy and my LO is just fine (as have many people here on the boards). You're much more likely to get listeria from fresh fruits and veggies (hence the listeria outbreak in melons last year)... you'll find that as you go through pregnancy, people keep coming up with more and more you should and shouldn't do and eat... just use common sense and you'll be fine.
