Feeding schedule

So what is everyone's schedule looking like these days?  I'm pretty nervous with the transition approaching and DD seems to be focusing on food lately and less on her formula.  Here's ours:

7:00 - previcid

7:30 - 6 oz bottle

8:00 - solid breakfast

9:00 Nap

12:00 Lunch followed by 6 oz bottle (she usually eats 5)

1:30 - Nap

3:30 - snack and bottle (she's not really eating this one_

5:30 - Dinner

7:00 - bath

7:30 bottle / bed.

It seems she's cutting her 3:30 bottle which is good, but I'm so nervous and am actually missing that time with her.  I miss sitting on the couch holding her while she eats a bottle...

Re: Feeding schedule

  • B is still taking 4, sometimes 5 bottles.  Since my hubby and I are both teachers, we don't mind keeping on this schedule for a few more weeks until summer vacation, since this works great at daycare, too. Here's our weekday schedule:

    6:30 wakeup, get dressed

7:15 cereal, fruit puree, yogurt, cheerios - and sometimes a bottle (he takes like 2 oz, but sometimes he wants it so bad, we aren't willing to say goodbye completely yet)

9:00 snack - cheerios or puffs, then a nap

11:15 - bottle, then Gerber pickups or fruit/veggies I cook, plus some veggie and fruit puree  (He's just getting the hang of texture/finger foods, so we are still doing lots of purees.)

    1:00ish - nap

    2:15 - bottle

4:00 - snack (he looooves Veggie Crunchies.  I think he'd eat the whole tub if I let him)

5:45ish - bottle, then a lot of solids and purees for dinner

    7:30ish - bottle, bed

I am starting to be able to feed him 'adult' food, just cooked and mashed.  It's exciting!

  • Loading the player...
  • Yeah she's eating all table food cut into small pieces.  She eats a ton!  I can't believe it.

  • We haven't changed schedule much in preparation for the transition. I still EBF every 3-4 hours during the day and once at night. This schedule is about a half hour earlier on days that I work and can vary if he takes a longer or shorter nap, but in general:

    7:30 wake and nurse

8:30 breakfast (fruit and cereal or yogurt/fruit and cheerios)

    9:30-11:00 or 11:30 nap

    11:30 nurse

12:00 lunch (yogurt if he didn't have it for bfast, fruit/veggie puree pouch, cheese, waffle).

    2:30 nurse

    3:00-4:00 nap

    4:30 nurse

5:30 dinner of stage 3 baby soup, veggie, banana (some of our dinner if he'll take it..we're working on this).

    7:30 nurse, bed

  • I'm happy to see someone else's little one still working on the purees and stage 3s too :-)  I'm always so worried that B is 'behind' even though I know all babies go at their own pace.

DD is all about finger foods, but it all comes out in her diaper.... Not sure how much is really being used.  Her diaper changes look like a fiesta....

  • I'm still BFing a lot, so this is a very rough schedule...

7-7:30  Wake up and sometimes nurse, depending on when her last nighttime feed was.

8:30ish Breakfast (fruit and carb...waffle, French toast, English muffin, toast)

    10-11ish Nurse before morning nap

    12:30 Lunch

    2-3ish Nurse before afternoon nap

    4-4:30 Post-nap snack

    6-6:30 Dinner

8:00 Bedtime nurse (which can go on for a while...)

She still gets up 1-2 times a night (on a good night) to nurse. We are working on middle-of-the-night weaning, though. She often nurses more than this, but they are very quick snacks -- like five minutes or less.

  • 7ish- bottle and solids

    Noonish- sippy and solids

5ish- bottle and solids (sometimes solids are later when we eat dinner)

    7:30- bottle and bed

I just cut DD's 3 daytime bottles from 8 to 6 oz this week and drastically increased her solids.  If she eats well at dinner she only takes 2oz of her 4 oz bedtime bottle so I am hoping to phase that out soon.  This week I replaced lunch bottle with a sippy and I plan to do the same for dinner in a week or two and then breakfast.  I sometimes hold her while she drinks her sippy- she eats more that way and it's our cuddle time.

This is ours exactly, except O is phasing out her lunch bottle and is still taking her 3:30 pm 6oz bottle.

  • Still BFing on demand and I offer table foods 3 times a day. She's finally in the last few weeks started eating at least some food at all 3 meals. I don't really have set times. I SAH and she eats whenever I'm having my meals. Here's our usual day ....

    6:30/7 am: wake-up and BF

    7:30 am: breakfast

    9:45/10am: nap 1 (BF's before and after)

    12:30pm-ish: lunch

    BF's somewhere in between here

    3/3:30pm: nap 2 (BF's before and after)

    5:30/6pm-ish: dinner

    7pm: bath every other day

7:30pm: wind down time (PJs, stories, BF's, songs)

    8pm: asleep
