Hi girls-
I had my first u/s (5w2d - IVF) today and when the doctor first put in the wand it was immediately apparent to she and I that there were 2 sacs. She measured the first, labelled it "A" and went on to measure the second. Turns out it behaved a little differently than a sac usually does and now she thinks it's likely just a pocket of fluid, but isn't ruling out a second sac. I have another u/s in 11 days, which I know will be pretty definitive, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious as to what is going on in there. Has any of you experienced anything similar? A maybe sac that turned into something more - or not? Thanks.
(And FTR, I am definitely not a twin wisher. We would, of course, welcome twins with open arms, but we are not hoping for them. We even considered doing a single embryo transfer. So this is not a "I got an egg with a double yolk today - does that mean I have twinsies?!?!?!" post.)
Re: 5w2d u/s - 1 sac and 1 "something else"
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
Haven't seen you in forever!!!
Excited for you either way.
ETA: How is your little guy almost three? wow.

My first u/s was 5w0d. There was one sac that was clear to the RE and one something that may or may not have been a spot. Who knows, I couldn't see anything anyway.
My second u/s was at 7w0d and there were very clearly 2 sacs with 2 heartbeats. Although one is measuring about a week behind the other. Right now, we assume it was a late implanter.
My first u/s was at 5w1d and we saw one gest sac and one yolk sac. At 6w3d there were two yolk sacs and heartbeats.

Here we go again...IVF 3 is underway!
Congratulations! How exciting!
Our first u/s was at 6w3d and the second sac/baby measured quite a bit smaller than the first one. If we'd had an u/s a week earlier, it probably would have been questionable. As it is, the smaller baby caught up and by 8 weeks they were both measuring the same size. By 12 weeks they were both still the same size and measuring 5 days ahead.
Anything can happen... either way, I hope you have a happy, healthy pregnancy!
